Recent Project: Josh Glenn “Vulnerable Minds” Music Video

Aug. 21, 2010 – Officially released! ┬áThank you for watching the debut music video for unsigned, San Antonio musician, Josh Glenn and first time director/editor, Rod Guajardo.

Update Nov. 16th, 2010 – Josh Glenn’s video “Vulnerable Minds” takes the best video award at the TMC Video Music Awards. Click here for the story with pics.

We had a lot of fun on this, from shooting to the editing. Although we knew we wanted to create a story around an Open Mic night, a musician and staying local, we only had the bare minimum’s, figuring most of it out along the way using available lighting. We got to meet a lot of great people on the streets of San Antonio and it renewed my faith on how friendly people can be to each other. We definitely learned a lot during this process and I look forward to using those lessons on future projects.

Don’t forget to RSVP for the release party!

I will be there, will you?!

  2. Though I’m not a fan of the song, you did a great job. The low light stuff really came out well. Did you shoot mostly at 1080 24fps or 720/60fps?

  3. Rod says:

Marshall, thanks for stopping by! I shot all of it at 1080 24fps, except for of a couple of slider shots in the coffee shop. That’s sort of a departure for me as much of my other videos are shot at 720/60fps and I convert to 24fps in Premiere Pro. Again, thanks for checking out my blog and the comments.

As a guy who also joined the DSLR revolution with a T2i, I can relate to alot of information on this blog. I find your reviews helpful.

Great job on this music video. 1 camera, 1 lens, that’s awesome. What picture profile settings did you use? Was it also color corrected in post?

  5. Rod says:

Thanks for checking out my little blog! I am glad you have found some of the info here helpful. Yep, the Josh Glenn music video was color corrected in post with Magic Bullet Looks and within CS5 Premiere Pro itself.

I used a picture style called, ELQextraflat.
